Private Commissions

We love working with clients on custom commissions to help bring a space to life. This is perfect for those who can’t find the exact piece they are looking for or have missed out on a previous original.

Antoinette Ferwerda takes on a limited number of private commissions each year and these pieces incur an additional fee. The process begins with a creative brief where we ask you to reference past works and select a preferred style as inspiration.

From here we require the preferred dimensions, orientation, colour likes and dislikes and finally the frame preference. Please note the commissioned piece will not be a direct replication of a past work, rather influenced by or produced in the same style and/or palette. Once you have briefed us, we will document the discussion and put together a written brief for your approval.

Once approved, a 50% deposit is required for the piece to be submitted into Antoinette's production schedule. Once the deposit has been paid, the lead time is typically 6-8 weeks, and is subject to Antoinette's workload.

Close to completion, we will invite you into the gallery to view your piece. Alternatively, we can send through a progress photo for your comments/approval prior to framing. Final payment is required before delivery. 

Framing your private commission artwork is a specialised and bespoke service.

The AF Gallery outsources all framing to our most trusted framers and suppliers.
We can assist you with framing your art for an additional service fee, or you may wish to select your own framer.
