While previous stories such as Champagne Poppies take inspiration from the delicate forms of flowers, Floriana takes Antoinette’s fascination with nature in a less conventional direction.

Bringing life to the largely uncelebrated parts of a plant, Floriana centres leaves and foliage. Interpreting a variety of leafy green plants – from the leaves on a flower’s stem, to those on a tree, to aquatic grasses and shrubs – this story finds beauty in the overshadowed and miraculous patterns in the things we take for granted.
