Light the Way | WOMEN FOR WOMEN IN AFRICA

Women for Women in Africa is a local Melbourne charity dedicated to supporting thousands of women and children in Kibera, Africa's largest slum.

In 2025, fine artist Antoinette Ferwerda created an original painting, I Belong Here, for donation to the WFWIA annual fundraiser.

A meditative, abstract piece, valued at $4,000, that explores perception, memory, and emotion through layered textures and gestural lines. Ferwerda draws parallels between African and Australian terrains, blurring geography and feeling, creating an expansive, rhythmic space for reflection.
