It’s Antoinette Ferwerda and I’d like to share with you my Rockpools art story, which is inspired by rock pools.

I’ve always been fascinated with that world within a world, where the surface of the water reflects the sky and yet I can see through the surface of the water to what’s underneath, and just the fascination of what might be in that little world, in that moment in time.

So, for me, the Rockpools paintings try to capture the organic, round shape of what the Earth has naturally made within the rocks and the shimmering water, and the reflections of forms, both underneath and from the sky above.
